Elva is 45 days old

Elva is 45 days old (6 weeks)

Seeing her growing everyday really bonded us together. Most of the time she will be with her mummy but during weekends, I will try to bond with her as much as I could.

Got a scare by my program executive in my school as she mix up with the dates of my re-test 2. I could not go for my actual test 2 as I will be in India for my company safety conference for 5 days. So I informed my program executive about this and applied for the re-test 2. I received two emails (one from her and one from the university) saying different dates so I clarify with her through email and she told me hers is correct which was last Friday. I felt strange as the actual test 2 is not yet over and the format of the re-test 2 is the same as the one for the first test. So I went to ask my lecturer and he told me the re-test is for test 1. I quickly went to find her but she left home early that day and I email her to check again, this time she say is wrong and say I did not tell her the full story. I was pissed with her attitude and felt that she did not do her job well, but it is Chinese New Year period so I forgive her.

We went to the Baby Care Festival at Expo to find for good deals and there were tons of people. We waited for the Huggies diapers as that was the best catch of the festival and even saw my ex-colleague there waiting for Huggies too. We wanted to buy other stuffs too but due to waiting time for the Huggies and Baby Elva around, we did not buy much. We managed to open Elva's CDA account for her. Now got to wait for letter to come again before putting in the money.

Chinese New Year

Its Chinese New Year again. Elva is 32 days old.

Elva went for her first Chinese New Year and visit all her relatives. She was sleeping all the way from going out to coming back. Jerlyn and I have been so tired preparing everything for her, especially Jerlyn getting not enough sleep. It was more tiring for her. I tried my best to help her with all the work I can help.

This snake year is a water snake year which the Chinese were told, and it really behave like water snake and rain every day since last week. Bringing baby Elva with the rain is really challenge, we got to avoid the rain at all costs, walking longer distance, taking shelter pathway. Lucky we usually go visit relatives during the first day of Chinese New Year, so the rest of the two days we will probably stay at home and take care of baby Elva.

After Chinese New Year, I got to start work again. After finishing my ICT with a pass for my IPPT (with $100 in the account) I felt my left wrist pain again. This is due to using more strength on IPPT and also taking care of baby Elva. Hope my left wrist can recover in time so I can carry baby Elva more.

Things to do after Chinese New Year:
  1. CDA Account opening when receiving letter from MCYS (Feb or Mar 2013)
  2. Planning for baby Elva Saving Plan (Before Dec 2013)
  3. Plan for our Taiwan trip with Baby Elva (Before Aug 2013)
  4. Making passport for Baby Elva (Before Aug 2013)
  5. Prepare for my India OSH Conference Trip (Feb 2013)
  6. Prepare for my ISO 14001 Audit (Feb 2013)
  7. Take Leave and prepare for my Exam (April 2013)

Elva's Baby Shower

Yesterday was Elva's 24 days old and also her baby shower. More than 100 people came and attend the event and was blessed with lots of ang baos and gifts. Seem like she would not need to buy new clothes for Chinese New Year.

We planned two session for her as there will be too many people, so we planned 11am to 3pm for friends and colleagues, 3pm to 7pm for relatives. It was raining and many people were delayed. Even the food caterer came late for the 2nd timing. The first timing serving was almost finished before the caterer came and top up. But we make a mistake thinking there will be more people and we ordered too many food for the second serving. Uncle Johnson also thought that second serving will be more people but was wrong.

I went for my IPPT last week and failed by one second for the 2.4km run. I got the timing 13:01 mins, same as Brother Tan last time. I also went to do night shift which I haven't been doing for very long time.

Now is to prepare for the upcoming Chinese New Year. Baby Elva will be going out with us to Chinese New Year House Visit. Will we cope. Our confinement lady is also leaving, so we will have to take care of Baby Elva ourselves. The confinement lady was good and deserved the $1900 we gave her for the 25 days work.
