Elva is 16 days old already.
She has been drinking more and more milk, so the drinking in demand is getting more. So many milk bottles in the fridge.
We have chosen AIA for Elva's hospital plan (Gold max) which cost $200 per year using Medisave and $330 per year using cash for the rider. We have also chosen the baby shower cakes too using the sweetest moments cakes buying 50 boxes for about $9.52 each.
We needed to get more milk storage bags to storage the milk, so we went online and buy the milk storage bags for $14.66 for 60 bags. Jerlyn also bought stickers for $6.20 for Elva to use when she go Infant Care.
During the 16 days since Elva born, Auntie Linda, Auntie Wan Jing and Auntie Joyce came to visit Baby Elva. Linda came with a mission and teaches Jerlyn how to squeeze her breasts to get the milk ducts unblock and also the correct way to pump out the milk.
I went back for my first ICT and saw a lot of old friends. But I was down with sore throat and cough, so I took two days MC to prevent myself from spreading to others. I was also prohibited to carry Baby Elva for the few days too.
Baby Elva is also cleared with Jaundice so she does not need to go for blood test again. The next visit will be her next injection which is on 2nd March.
Next we need to get money from the bank for the CDA account, baby shower caterer and also confinement lady salary. Next Sunday will be Baby Elva's baby shower as the following weekend will be Chinese New Year, so we need to do it earlier.

Elva is 9 days old!!
Elva is 9 days old already.
She been the highlight of the family. Everyone keep coming to see her.
Total bills for giving birth with epidural at Thomson Medical Centre was about $6,500. Total bills for giving birth plus pregnancy tests and package was about $10,000. I also engaged my friend 's uncle to calculate Elva's Chinese name.
We went to take baby photos at Studio Loft and the shoot took almost 4 hours plus choosing the photos. Elva was crying and pooing along the shoot which make the shoot longer. After that I went to ICA building to get Elva's birth certificate done. I also fill in for the baby bonus.
We have managed to get Jerlyn's uncle to book Elva's baby shower celebration caterer. we ask for 10 dishes plus 1 drink and free 5 tables and 20 chairs. Total ordering food for 100 people.
Jerlyn brought Elva to see the paediatrician and found that the doctor is not good and very expensive. Elva was having jaundice so need to go for blood test to check for her jaundice level. The second time we decided to go to polyclinic instead. The polyclinic was better and the nurse know how to comfort Elva when taking her blood test. It is cheaper too for only $13 compare to that unskilled paediatrician who charged $107.
Now what is left to do for Elva is her baby shower cakes, Elva CDA account when MCYS send us the letter and buying her hospital plan. I need to finish my first assignment by 7 February too.

The arrival of Elva
Our daughter Elva is born. She was born after 17 hours after we admitted to hospital for induce labour. Doctor Sim told us last week to get prepared to come in for induce if Baby Elva did not come out this few days.
On the night of admission, we went to have supper at the cheese prata shop before going in. After reaching hospital at almost midnight, Jerlyn was given the prostin tablet to soften the cervix and to induce labour. I went to the registration and admit Jerlyn. 2 hours later, there were no contractions so the nurse told Jerlyn to go back to the ward to rest and wait for the contraction. I was asked to leave as I could not stay in the ward overnight. After I left for home, Jerlyn had some minor contractions and this goes on till the morning when Doctor Sim came to visit her.
I was there early in the morning to check on Jerlyn. Doctor Sim burst her water bag and asked the nurse to monitor. Jerlyn could feel the contractions getting more painful so she asked for the epidural. The doctor was fast and quick and give her the epidural and left. We waited till in the afternoon where Doctor Sim came again and check on Jerlyn. Not time yet and she left. The 3rd time she came, she told the nurse to reduce the epidural and it was time to push the baby out. The pushing took almost an hour and Baby Elva is out. Jerlyn did a great job and I was very proud of her. I got the chance to cut the umbilical cord for Baby Elva.
Baby Elva was born on the 11 January 2013 1725hrs, weigh 3.205kg and 49cm in length. The nurse gave Baby Elva to carry and I was so happy. First time holding my baby girl. After that Baby Elva was push to NICU for observation as she have flu and a lot of phlegm mucus in her. Fortunate, she was alright and now in nursery. I was too tired and was asked to go home with Jerlyn's parents. Jerlyn was allergy to painkillers and caused her right eye to swollen. The nurse gave her injection and hope she will be fine.
Dear I am so proud of you. Love you Dear. It will be a sleepless night for the next one month.

Summary of my pregnancy journey by Jerlyn
We get to know my pregnancy after my birthday in 2012. Back then, i was quite worried and tested with an expiry pregnancy kit and it is positive. But i was to convinced that i am pregnant and decide to go out and buy another one to confirm. I remember we went to buy bubble tea before going back as i know RJ will not allow me to drink once confirmed it. So we went back home and tested it again...and the result is positive. We decide to keep mum to all until when we visit the gyna.
However, i told my mum abt it first and she does not believe me and ask me to go tested first. So we make appointment with Doc LN Sim at TMC at week 6 to check. Indeed, it was very nervous for me and my hubby but it was an eye opener. We managed to hear bb heartbeat and saw a small embryo. it means that there is a living thing in my tummy.. the feeling is amazing..
First Trimester
The start of my first trimester...ppl say that you will vomit and lose weight.. for my case i tend to vomit after every meal..but i did not lose any weight le.. a few of my colleagues knew i am pregnant and aslo at the same time we are moving office le..
2nd Trimester
I am starting my 2nd tri on Week 14..we been going to see the gyna for monthly check up..and it always a challenge and worry for me..donno if the bb is doing well inside or not..been thinking and thinking.. my hubby also happy... 2nd tri is smooth sailing for me.. cos everything is back t the normal onl that my tummy start to show a little liao..
3rd Trimester
I enter into 3rd Trimester in Oct.this time round my tummy can be seen..haha..gt ppl still can ask me if i am plump..this colleague of mine does have observation skill le..lol..well this sem i hardly eat a lot for dinner cos will tend to be bloated at times..
I been telling bb not pop in 2012 but in 2013 and bb is quite cooperative. as i want a a Jan BB..and my wish came true..I been having Bratxon Hicks and my tummy keep tighting when i walked..feeling super uncomfortable..tot it was time to due and i having slpless night..keep waking up in the middle of night and bb keep pressing on my thight nerves, making my whole leg suan le..
At the last check up on 5 Jan 2013,doc mentioned that both me and my hubby head is big..so scare might not be able to naturally give birth and told us might emergency c-section.. doc said that i am 1 cm dilation but bb not yet want to come out to see the world..doc also mentioned that if these few days bb is not ready, i have to admit into the hospital on 10 Jan 13 at 11pm..so that the charges will be for next day.. and also will be going to induce by inserting the tablet le..
so have 3 more days to my induce date..both me and hubby are now kan cheong liao..haha but at least we anticipate the date for the bb to arrive into this world..3 more days for me to slp and i will be having slpless night thereafter..hee

Week 39
Elva is 39 weeks in Jerlyn's tummy!!
We celebrated our new year at home this year waiting for our new member of our family. Getting more nervous as I am going to upgrade from 2 piece meal to 3 piece meal. What will happen when there is 3 of us, things will be not be the same like last time anymore. I have to be more responsible from now on, thinking more for Jerlyn and Elva then just Jerlyn alone anymore.
We went to see Dr Sim again, Baby Elva is now 3.174kg. Dr Sim told us if Baby Elva does not want to come out this few days, Jerlyn have to go to the labour ward on the coming Thursday after 11pm and go for induce. Dr Sim also say that as both of us have big heads so naturally Elva will have big head, so having natural birth will be a challenge. But she will let Jerlyn try first before deciding if need to go for c-section anot.
Seem like I need to let my manager and HR know when to take leave and plan for my leave too.
From now to Thursday only left 5 days, getting more nervous. Will Elva come out on which day?
