Merry Christmas

This year Christmas is a cold and wet Christmas. Last year's Christmas we rot at home eating Maggie mee, this year Christmas we went to Linda's house for house warming and Christmas exchange. The day started when I went to work in the wee hours and came back at 7 plus in the morning. After showering and changing, I brought Jerlyn to my company's family day at Vivocity for movie. We watched Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, not bad as there is a lot of death defying movements.
After that Jerlyn brought me Far East Plaza for a spa massage which include a scrub and a oil massage. The scrub was normal, but I felt the shower was a bit far so we had to walk through the corridor in our underwear and robe, and I got knocked by the receptionist. After shower the lady gave me a boxer and gave Jerlyn another underwear which I felt I should wear the underwear too because the boxer hinder the massage just like in Batam. But the oil massage was good and it did not have the oily feeling after the massage like the one in Batam. I was wondering what is the best dress code when doing oil massage. naked or underwear or boxer? I tried all three and naked is the best but must not be shy to let ladies see your naked body. I think the first time massage in just a small towel when in Bangkok I was really shy, but the massage was really good.
After the Spa, we went to eat at Thai eatery at the basement of Far East Plaza. It was opened by Thai Muslim and the food was not bad. It was raining super heavy when we wanted to go to Jerlyn's office to do some errands, thought of taking the cab but the queue was super long so we had to settle for bus. By the time we got there, Jerlyn and I were half wet. My Bermudas were wet and my back of the shirt is also wet. When Jerlyn finish her errands, we took a bus again and then change to train to go Linda's house. It was still raining heavily and many places has started to flood.
At Linda's place, we went to buy food for the steamboat. We bought 115 dollars worth of food and all of us couldn't finish all as there was log cake too. We had gift exchange and Jerlyn got a flask bottle while I got a Disney towel and bath items. I was like half awake most of the time as I got up quite early in the morning. By the time I reach home I was already asleep.
Overall this year Christmas was better than last year, but the best Christmas me and Jerlyn had was in 2009 in Arizona.

Desaru

Went to Desaru, Malaysia during the weekend to have a break away from home and the stressful Singapore. Jerlyn and I woke up early in the Saturday morning and took a bus to People's Park Centre and take our coach to Desaru. We went to the Desaru Fruit Farm and get to different fruits and try out bread fruit and jack fruit which I have never eaten before. The bread fruit is not edible until it is cooked. It taste like fried sweet potato when it is fried. We also get to know about bee's management, how they took the nectar and make into honey. After that we check in to Lotus Desaru Resort and relax the whole afternoon. We were at the beach cafe relaxing, eating our pizza and watching the waves. But our main mission is to go there relax because Singapore is too stressful and also to go there to make baby.

The next day we went back to the Fruit Farm for lunch and bought some fruits back to Singapore. It was a relaxing trip but there wasn't much things for us to do there except doing our mission. 

Finally finish one year of study

Finally finished my exams, for this year at least. I have gone through 6 papers since start of the year, thou the latest two paper I think I did quite badly but it was really fast that one year has passed. Still got two more years to go. I started my planning for the next stages after I started studying. Study plus work plus family commitment is really tiring, and Jerlyn and I have also started to plan for our family. Its about time as we had been married for 3 years and everyone seem to be having baby for fun, so we decided to have a shot at it too. So that why after this few months of thinking and struggling through my study, I have decided to give up my job and spend more time on my study and my family. Money can buy you anything but it can't buy you everything. I think what I need is the time which my work couldn't gave me. But life will have a big change if I decided to gave up my job and I expected it won't be a easy ride. For my study and my family, it should be worth it.

After finishing my exams, it time for me to catch up by meeting my insurance agents to update my investment and also meeting my friends that I have not been meeting. I also have to plan for my anniversary trip, and lots of to do list to do. Seem like it will be a busy Christmas for me. So much things to do and clear.

Lack of Sleep

Haven't been sleeping well as I was working at 4.30am for 2 weeks in the row. Assignment and Presentation deadline getting nearer also add in the pressure and getting less sleep as I need to go school after work. Everyday was like a zombie. Lacking of sleep really can make you malfunction.

Exams is coming soon. That means got to pay for the next trimester soon too. Really hope Bernard will come back after sorting out his personal problems. Giving up halfway is really wasteful.

Next month will be my 3rd anniversary with Jerlyn. But due to the exams clash with the anniversary, we postponed our anniversary to after Chinese new year. Finally we got our accommodation and air tickets sorted out. Due to some problem with the agency, Jerlyn and I almost quarrel about our trip to Bali. But we managed to sort it out, if not the trip might go to waste too. We decided to continue on the original date for our first hotel, and we booked another hotel which is cheaper for us to go sightseeing, so that our air tickets will be cheaper too due to the dates we are going and leaving. Jerlyn was thinking April might not be able to go for holiday as we are trying for a baby now, that why we decided to concentrate on the Bali trip. Now we only left the driver and the places to book for the Bali tour and we will be all set. Hope it will be a fun trip. But first next month to Desaru after my exams.

THe most unlucky weekend

Talk about unlucky, 12th November is the day. Was working night shift for the week, then someone couldn't work on Saturday, so I was told to takeover him. On Friday as I was working night, I came home early to prepare for working morning on Saturday. Having to work night the whole week, I couldn't sleep the whole night. I lay on the bed since 11 plus at night till 3 plus in the morning and then got ready to work. At work I thought it should be good day and should be able to go home around 7 plus in the morning so I doze off, but things started to go haywire after that. After working all the way till 11 plus in the morning, I thought after finishing the last part, I can go home, But it started to rain. As it was raining, I couldn't do my work and had to wait. The rain didn't seem like wanting to stop and keep raining till 5 in the afternoon. The rain become smaller so we press for our work but the rain become bigger again.. We didn't want to stop again so we continue working in the rain till 6 plus in the evening and finally can go back home.

I was suppose to meet Jerlyn at home in the morning then go to school in the afternoon and then go Hard Rock Hotel to meet her for our night activities, but almost all went into the drains. Went to Hard Rock Hotel after changing my clothes, met Jerlyn and then go to the room and shower before meeting Linda and David for dinner at Ramen Play. After that we went to Hard Rock Cafe for drinks and chat. Chatted till we came back to our room and continue chatting. I was too tired, after they left, we quickly shower and I fell asleep instantly. Haven't had this sleeping instantly feeling for so long. The bed helped too as it was really good to sleep in.

The next morning we woke up we went for our breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and then checked out. Went back home and get ready for Cyndi's wedding lunch later. But we were late and I wore the wrong shoe some more. We were told by my relatives for being late as we missed out taking photos with Cyndi. I felt bad so I waited for most of the people to leave first before taking photos with Cyndi.

Big Walk 2011

This is the second Big Walk with Jerlyn. We started last year where it was at Singapore Flyer and pass through Marina Bay Sands (MBS) too. This year started at Sentosa Boardwalk and pass through Universal Studio Singapore (USS) to Siliso Beach. But This year have more people, 18000 people participating and thou the walk was more tiring because of the route is more of climbing and descending. It was my first time going to USS thou I had went to Universal Studio Los Angeles (USLA) before. USS is really smaller than USLA. This year sponsors was not that good too. Compare to last year, this year goodies really sucks. I think the main attraction was all spend on Sentosa and USS. Hope next year will be better.

Linda's Wedding

Went to Linda and Teck Tong's Wedding Dinner on 30th Oct at Furama City Hotel. I had just recover from my food poisoning so eating this dinner was kind of wasted. It was like a lot of food but I couldn't get the food into my system yet. First time eating wedding dinner feeling so agony.

Was thinking of wanting to extend our 3rd Anniversary in January next year our Bali trip. We bought 3 days 2 night Bali Villa stay from outlet.com deals. But thinking of the places we wanted to go and wanted to relax while we are there, extending would be a better choice. But we didn't check the air ticket first as air tickets varies when you going or returning during weekend. If we had know that the air tickets are so much expensive than the date we set, we would not set that date. Now we wanted to change the date of the Villa stay, there would be a $50 administrative charges. But nevertheless, we will still proceed going to our Bali trip on January for our 3rd Anniversary.

P.S: Always check for the air tickets first before booking hotel.

Aftermath of poisoning?

After the poisoning, I doesn't seem to feel right. My sleeping pattern got disrupted. I can't get to sleep that easier now. sleeping at 11plus pm to 12 plus am, I would be still awake at 2am. I couldn't get back to my American style of sleeping, I always fall asleep so comfortable usually in my American style. My libido dropped drastically too. I don't have the urge so frequently anymore. Now I need Jerlyn to help me get back my mood. Maybe It take time to let all the poison to detox out of my body? Or Maybe it the assignment that is killing my pattern? Or Maybe I'm stressed out?

Poison by Food

My worst ordeal in my life happened on Monday 24th October. Was having my day off that day, having my mixed vegetable rice and then went to do my assignment. Feeling sleepy, I lie down and rest. After a while I was woken up by an acute pain in my stomach. The pain did not go away as I struggle to stand up. I thought by resting I will recover but it didn't. I called for help and Vincent send me to see doctor.

Doctor Chia gave me an injection on my buttock and some medication, telling me that I was having an acute food poisoning, by eating the medicine, it should be better and gave me two days medical certificate. Went back home feeling a little better. At night I vomited out the food that I ate in the afternoon. Thought after vomiting, I will be better.

Tuesday morning still feeling pain in the stomach and vomited again, Jerlyn's dad brought me to see doctor chuang aka doctor weird because of his character. Doctor chuang gave me another injection my my left arm and some medication too. Told me not to eat anything as I will surely vomit out and drink sugar water to replenish energy. The whole day I did not eat anything at all but I still vomited and having diarrhoea again at night.

Wednesday morning with Jerlyn beside me I feel more better. Diarrhoea become lesser but I did vomit again for the fourth time and the pain started to get unbearable and vomit for the fifth time. So Vincent and Jerlyn brought me to Singapore General Hospital Accident and Emergency department and seek help. Jerlyn and I was there for more than 5 hours, got my buttock hole poked by the female doctor, drew out my blood for test, did an X ray on my chest and stomach, gave me three injection in one go, making me dizzy, put me on drip of saline, and gave me biscuits and water to drink to see if I would vomit again. After that she let me discharge and gave me tons of medicine. I did not eat anything the whole day again beside the biscuits.

Thursday Jerlyn took a day off to take care of me, still feeling the pain in the stomach. But after all the pills taking, I can see I am getting better, the stools are getting less watery and I can move more freely. But the question was what causes me to have food poisoning? I think I know the answer now.

Today I still trying to recover from the food poisoning. my stomach is getting less painful and I hope I can recover by tomorrow. I had diarrhoea before but this is the worst I had ever encounter.

Interaction

When it rain, it pours. That was when we were driving a tractor along the road when it really pours. I was with my superior from department C, I have known him since year 2007 when I was working in this department CA. We had to stop at one of the building and avoid the downpour. When we were waiting for the rain to stop, it rained for 1 hour, he told me about interaction. What he said make me think hard about working in the company.

He told me that interaction is very important, because when you chat with someone, you need to catch the other party interest if not the other party will not listen to you. That is the kind of job I will be dealing if I finish my career here and join the safety line. The people there will not listen to your preaching about safety, they want to get more things done so they can earn more. In the outside world, the company all talks about productivity because money counts. That where I have to learn about interaction. He told me stay at the mess and have a drink and chat with people that where how I can learn the art of interaction. He knew that I am not good at talking and he knew that my ranking is poor thou I work like a dog day in day out because I am the same kind of person as him. That why he told me if this place doesn't deserve you to stay, go out quickly because I am still young. For him at the age at 41 now, he couldn't leave because he has family responsibility and commitment to bear, he need to provide for his children. He told me the company don't owe you anything and you don't owe the company anything too. If the company pay you three thousands a month but your expenses is four thousands a month, you have to go find that one thousand to top up and don't blame the company. Unless you change your spending, cut down on your expenses or you find another job that can match your expenses. He told me this place is really for the flyboys, their increment is a big jump for about 2 thousands per month while ours is only just 60 to 80 dollars per month. That why rather be an flyboy than a specialist.

After the talk, I knew that changing the way I am now is important and it really make me realise I need to change. Change myself and change the environment. I still have 30 odd years of working life to go and life is too short to waste it on one place. Do the things that I like and be happy.

Assignment and Dragon Baby

I'm always rushing for my assignment, so I tried to do it earlier, but because of work and laziness, I always end up doing late again. This time I did bits by bits, Jerlyn was giving me target to fulfill when I'm not working and she will go out so I will concentrate on doing it. With Jerlyn around I tend to focus more on her than my assignment.

With four of my colleagues' wives and a secondary school friend pregnant really got us thinking, maybe its peer pressure that make us feel we should be trying for a baby. 5 of them are giving birth in the dragon year, they are Lili, Aor, Serene, Hema and Jenny. So should Jerlyn join them? Is Jerlyn ready to be mum? Am I ready to be dad? Should we have baby because everyone is giving birth? Should we had our baby in the dragon year?  Do we have the capability to take care of the baby after birth? Do we have help and support to take care of the baby? Are we financially capability of having baby?  This are the questions inside me that need to be answered. But thinking of our age, we are at the age of parenthood.

Housing Issue

Heard from Jerlyn's Mum that their new flat will be ready by next January to March, as our new flat won't be ready until year 2014, so now we got to think of where to move. One choice is to move to one of Jerlyn's two aunt flat as in rent a room from here as both of them are staying alone or we went to HDB and ask for rental flat. As Saturday will be Lili and Fabian leaving Singapore for Arizona, we will go HDB and ask after that. So that we got more options.

Thinking of having dragon baby? Still don't know we are ready a not. Yes, we are saving up for house but we somehow we don't know why we didn't think of saving up for baby. I think this question is more difficult than my exams.

From one department to another department to another department. Seems confusing? Here the story, I was from department A, posted to department B. Then department A wanted me to go department C to clock my currency for the job but some how department B didn't know about it. Department B wanted me to do the appointment that they have just throw to me. But as I go to department C, I will not be able to do my appointment in department B. So I highlighted and department B was not very happy about this, wanted me to ask department C to let me come back to department B to do my appointment. But department C was not happy either, they needed people, that why they requested to get me from department A. so now I will wait and see department B and C shooting email, while department A laughing at one corner and who will win me. Getting more shitty here.

Quiznos Sub

Tried Quiznos Sub for the first time with Jerlyn at West Coast Plaza on Sun 2nd Oct. It was quite good actually. I always ate Subway since it opened in Singapore and in Arizona thou both cities have Quiznos but I never tried it till now. It was a lazy afternoon where Jerlyn accompany me to West Coast Plaza to have my late lunch. I didn't know what I wanted to eat and Jerlyn say "why don't you try Quiznos since I got staff discount", and I tried. I ordered Tuna Melt Sub as I always ate Tuna for Subway so I wanted to compare. And it turn out Quiznos won. The bread was much softer than Subway, the tuna was about the same, the side salad was good too. And it cost about the same but with discount. But this is just my humble opinion, so if you think Subway is still the best, by all means continue eating. I will still continue eating Subway but now I got another choice to make. Jerlyn had Tully's Coffee Caramel Macchiato only as she had ate earlier. That the good part about Quiznos, bread plus coffee.

30th Birthday

I reached my 3rd decade on earth.

What have I achieved during the last 29 years of my life? I got myself a lovely wife whom I think she is the best of the world for me. Can't imagine that I have been married to her for 2 years and 9 months. We going to celebrate our 3rd anniversary soon in Bali, Indonesia. Thou it will be delay due to my studies but I'm sure we are looking forward to it. Never thought I would marry early at the age of 27. But I never regretted it. Till now, marrying her is still the only best thing that I have achieved.

Now I'm trying to achieve another feat which is to get my degree. After starting working, I have never thought of going back to study, until Jerlyn encouraged me to go for it. I think now that working and studying really took most of my time with Jerlyn but I still trying my best to spend time with her.

Another big achievement will be going into parenthood. As I mentioned that we have been married for closing to 3 years, it time for us to start a family. The only thing is, are we ready to be parents? Jerlyn still having some doubts. For me I not sure about it too. As I am still working and studying at the same time, being a dad would sure stressed me out. But as I reached the 30th years of milestone, I should take up more responsible too. Having a baby is not a easy job, trying for a baby is also not that easy either. So its better to let nature take the course while I take the condom out of the way.

Life is getting more challenging when I pen down this post.

Back from Pekanbaru, Indonesia

I'm back from Pekanbaru, Indonesia. So happy to be back. Saw my wife Jerlyn at the Airport terminal arrival hall make me feel really happy.

It started from 6th Sept Tuesday. It was suppose to be 5th Sept Monday but was delayed to Tuesday. so I managed to go for my last lesson on Monday before flying off. Monday was a busy day where phone calls kept coming in. I went to school to purchase the textbook for my module and half way calls came in asking to collect stuff. So I went down to school first, had my lunch there, bought the book, and then went to outside of my workplace to wait for the things to be passed to me. Then at night another guy came to void deck of my flat to pass me another stuff. Tuesday came and I'm off to take cargo plane to Pekanbaru. It was quite near as Pekanbaru is only 45mins away from Singapore. I reached there with all the stuff that is needed with me.

The hotel was a four star hotel (the hotel signboard had four stars on it) with a lot of facilities in it. There is a hot pool, cold pool, sauna room, steam room, oxygen room, back rub area, gym, swimming pool and also massage facilities too. But the hotel massage is really expensive so I went to those massage parlour just outside the hotel to massage. The hotel is surrounded by shop houses where there restaurants and massage parlour. I tried the ear candling which I find it not bad. It really make me hear better and clearer. the body massage and the foot massage was not really that good. I still prefer Thai massage. The food is okay but is a bit expensive. Who would know the food here cost about the same or slightly higher than Singapore. I think its the frequency of us going over there and make their prices going uphill. There are 2 malls that I went but nothing much to shop. I managed to buy one polo ralph shirt for myself and one for Jerlyn. I also managed to drink my favourite A&W root beer float twice. Other than that, there nothing much to do here. It was really boring for me, other people find their entertainment by playing mahjong, going for disco, going for soccer, going for sex workers, while I play games and chat with Jerlyn everyday.

What can I say, I very glad to be back. Now got to start reading notes and revise for my test, go for my second appointment for the HDB, and also do my identification card as I reaching the 3rd decade in the earth soon.

Going overseas for work again

After my exams, I went back to work in the new environment. Can't say it was totally new to me, I did spend some time in this department in year 2006/7 although the department is no longer existed anymore. Over at the new department, I feel lost at first, not knowing what to do even though I know what this department does. Maybe I was used to my old department, that why I feel weird over at this department. I was not sure I feel happy leaving my old department as the planing is getting more ridiculous, or feeling sad that I am leaving my comfort zone. Tasks came and misunderstandings keep popping up, working in this kind of environment make me consider why I want to put up with this kind of nonsense.

Going to my overseas stint again in Sept. I do not know why I always go overseas in Sept. This time to Indonesia. Not sure what to expect over there, I hope it would be better than Thailand. Everything was last minute, taking injection was last minute, going to brief was last minute, packing luggage was last minute, air tickets was last minute too. Even the date of depart changes last minute. Hope I can come back on time, that is the most important.

Went to buy moon cake with Jerlyn at Takashimaya square. This has become our routine event every year. Actually I was the one who wanted to go every year, Jerlyn was dragged by me to go haha. Our mission there is to taste the best moon cake before we bought it home to eat.

Exams For 2nd Sem

Finally finish my exams for my second semester with agony and anger. First it was OHSE2620, maybe because there was past years papers to aid me, I became a bit laid back and concentrated on the past years papers only. I still could get high marks I hope. But it was OHSE2630 that was painful and angry. As I said that I became more laid back for my first paper, the second paper was a killer. There was too much information to digest, so after reading the sample questions that the lecturer gave, I banked on the style of questions that she had give as she wrote that it would be the similar style that would be tested. I was conned by her!! The questions that came out was all asking for detail and specific answers. I struggle through the time to find answers to write on the paper. Most angry part of all, the guy beside me was cheating. I wanted to tell but the clock was ticking away and I still got a lot to write, I can't waste time on the cheater while time is wasted on me. So I continue to write my paper while cursing the guy beside me. The guys behind me should have seen the cheater too but they choose to do their papers too. After I left the classroom, I felt agony and angry that I didn't do anything to stop that cheater. Hope I can pass my last paper and hope karma will fall on the cheater.

Exams over, now have to concentrate on work. Today is the first day going to the new workplace. One thing about the new workplace is its very far from the main gate. Not like my old workplace I can walk from main gate, this new workplace if I walked, it will take at least 40-50 minutes. By the time I walk there, I would have no energy to work. So got to make arrangement with KF see how he can find people to bring us in.

Next month I will be going for detachment again. Everything was not prepared yet. My card was spoilt and I don't know any details what need to do, what has been done. Things many things will cock up last minute. I don't know why every year of the month of September, I had to go for detachment. From the day I met Jerlyn in Nov 2006, I haven't been in Singapore for my birthday to celebrate my birthday on that day with Jerlyn. Flashback:
Sept 2007 - I was in my first even detachment in Korat. So after I came back in October, Jerlyn celebrated for me.

Sept 2008 - I was in Arizona working. So I celebrated my birthday with KF, Hema, Jayden, KK and Chin Hui in McGrath Fish House.

Sept 2009 - Me and Jerlyn came back to Singapore because of my sister condition but flew back to Arizona before my birthday. This is the only time Jerlyn celebrated my birthday on my actual day.

Sept 2010 - I was in Korat detachment again. So came back in October to celebrated with Jerlyn.

So this year, I will be going to detachment again in September too. But I was schedule to come back on the 24th of September. Hope my fifth year with Jerlyn, I can celebrate my birthday with her in peace.

Tonsillitis

Fall sick again, this time was Tonsillitis, inflammation of the tonsil in the throat. But When I went to see the doc at my workplace on the Wednesday 20th July , at that time I was having fever and headache, he look at my throat and and gave me 2 days MC and panadol only. I took the medicine but could not recover. So on Friday 22nd July I went back to see him, he checked my throat and gave me 1 day MC and the same panadol again. But this time he say I might be having dengue fever, if I could not recover by Monday he will draw my blood for testing. But I still could not recover, so Jerlyn brought me to our family doctor on Sunday 24th July. He looked at my throat and saw my tonsil swollen and check my neck if there is swollen too. Then he told me what was happening to me, and gave me the correct medicine and 2 more days of MC. That was then I know that the previous doctor at my workplace was giving me the wrong diagnosis, that why I could not recover.

I was sick for 1 whole week. After coming back to work on Wednesday 27th July, I was told I was posted out to another place. They have decided during I was on MC. I was disappointed with the decision but I had no choice but to oblige. My mind was thinking, are they trying to make me go even faster? KF was at my workplace, he knows what I wanted to do but he told me go over first and see how its work. It might be better for me, who knows. I thought about that and since I had not much choice so just have to see how its goes. Andy came back and knew about my case told me the same thing, he say that why don't finish my study first and see how. 2 more years to go I don't want my study to stop me from what I want to do. But what Andy say has his point, as the salary and the leave I might not be able to fund of take leave if I really want to change thing. Make me not sure what to do now, I will leave it after my exams and after going over to the new workplace and decide then.

Failed my IPPT for the 3rd time on 2nd August. Improved my timing by 1 second only. Think with the medication and lying in bed for 1 week didn't help much in my IPPT. my left knee started to feel pain again after the run. It happened on the previous 2 IPPT that I took. I feel pain on the knee cap when I bend my knee. Going up and down the stairs was extremely painful. I was told by my colleague that the joint between the 2 bones might have started to wear off, same like his knee too. But I couldn't go to the doctor yet as if I go to see doctor now, I will get an excuse and couldn't pass my IPPT on time. I will get a warning letter and salary will be deducted. Now I can only hope it recover fast and I will go for my next IPPT and pass it, so I can go see doctor about my problem.

Exams is coming!!

Failed my IPPT

Failed my IPPT. Was having that feeling that I could pass my IPPT but I still failed. Only by 26 seconds. Thou I have improved from the previous attempt which was 14 minutes plus, but I still failed. My mind was all about stone cold creamery ice cream which Jerlyn promised to treat me if I pass. But it didn't happened. Now my whole body is aching like hell. my left knee is having this pain that when I walk down the stairs, it will be very painful.

Had a worse week of my life. Working morning on Monday, working night on Tuesday, working mid shift on Wednesday, working morning on Thursday and then working night again on Friday. I was like working in a curve shift, everyday I was in different shift. My body clock went haywire. I was sleeping in different time of the day on five consecutive days. After watching undercover boss, I really think America have better bosses.

Got to finish my assignment by this weekend, with this kind of shift work, one would think how can I finish my assignment on time. Luckily I forced myself to submit my assignment one week advance and then do the necessary amendment later. I have been missing quite a lot of lessons because of work. Really tired in my job. I trying my best to hang it on, but the time to let go will surely come soon.

Back to Shift Work

Just as I studying how shift work affect our life and health in my OSHE2630 lesson, I was told to go back to shift work. Reasons given because there is not enough people, so they need me back to shift work. But after I went back to shift work, there are still not enough people to cover the shift. Now I'm missing my lessons because of work, I had to catch up the lost time. Assignment deadline is near I had to push myself. My health is getting weaker, keep falling sick. Is it because too long didn't work night, still needed time to adjust. I still haven't pass my IPPT too.

Seem like my mind has decided. But still have some fear in it. Should I or Should I not? I was told to go for the next overseas task in Indonesia. But the task will take 10 weeks to complete. 10 weeks is 2 and half months, no one wanted to go because of the long period. Who want to go there for 10 weeks leaving their family behind? After much complaint, they decided to have rotation. But still have to stay around 5 weeks there. If I go 10 weeks, I might as well fail my exams. Now was told to go 5 weeks, I was reluctant but no choice. Now there news that there might be 3 rotations, seems like its getting interesting but I think it is plan to fail. Let see what will happen next.

Planned my anniversary trip with Jerlyn. Can't say that was fully planned as I have only booked the resort till now. Ironically we are going to Bali, Indonesia for our 3rd anniversary. After I booked the resort, then I was told about the oversea task. Anyway our anniversary will be push back as my anniversary falls on my exams period. So we decided to go after next year Chinese new year, so we can avoid giving red packets haha.

Trial Stay at Oasia Hotel

Jerlyn got a trial stay at Oasia Hotel, its a new hotel that is under her company. So everyone in her department get a trial stay for one night at the hotel to test out and give comments of the hotel. So we decided to go down on Sat June 18th to try it out. First time we didn't pack anything for our hotel stay because it is at mainland Singapore.The last time we had a hotel stay in Singapore was at sentosa resort hotel three years ago when I proposed to Jerlyn. That time we didn't bring anything too, only the clothes on our back because it was a surprise for her. This time we didn't bring any clothes too because we are only staying for one night and we don't think we will go for the gym and the swimming pool so we only bring toiletries.

The hotel is really new, can smell the paint and the new furniture smell. I like the shower head, there the rain shower and the normal shower head. And the glass beside the shower can be seen through from the bedroom side. So your love ones can shower and chat with you while you lie in bed and see her too. The view was not bad as we stayed on the 23rd floor. I also like the blinds as there are two types of blinds, one to block all the sunlight and have more privacy and one to partly block the sunlight. The bed was good too, can feel the softness of the quilt and the mattress was not too hard or soft. These were the things that I would like in our future home. There is a lot of defects in the room, we wrote it down and hope they could fix it before the customers came and stay. I would not write it here since they are suppose to fix it. We simply laze around in bed most of the time and had our private moments.

Wow this GSS to this date, what have I bought till now? Think after two years in America I don't really wanted to buy anything in Singapore because I feel I had too many clothes. Most of the things I will buy now mostly will go online to buy it unless online doesn't have it. Anyway for this GSS, Me and Jerlyn bought a Asus laptop from the PC show. We shared the cost for this laptop because Jerlyn doesn't want me to always buy stuff for her and she felt that she had started working so she wanted to contribute too. Other than that, I only buy my favourite Skinxwear underwear. I only buy it once a year because one Skinxwear is not cheap and only during GSS they have discount. Thou it is expensive but the tanga briefs and the boxer trunk are so comfortable, even the CK boxers trunk that I bought in America couldn't compare to it.

Thinking again and again, and wonder its time to change my future. Met up with Cyndi on June 13th and had dinner with her and Jerlyn. She realised that I was not as happy as before. It was due to work and study. I really want to finish my study and hope that would help in my future. But work is stressful and there are not enough people to cover like last time. I know it is getting more challenging  now, but my health gave way when I had lessons for 3 weeks in the row with work. I am considering giving it up one. This was not my first time thinking about it, been thinking for months. I remember when in Avalon Airshow in March, a man ask me what position will I be when I was at his age? He was once working as the same organisation as me. This make me think and I know I will never achieve the position when I was at his age. (He was in his late forties, he left when he was 43 years old) So I gave myself a timeline. If I still can't cope with my studies with work, I shall leave.

Bangkok

3rd of June was my ENVS2630 test, 40 MCQ questions. Seem easy but it was not. Didn't study much because of my fever a week earlier. Anyway took a day off to study it hope that something can go into my head. Because of the fever, I think I lost some of my memories, can't seem to think of what I have learn. After the test, it was the Bangkok trip. Can relax for awhile before I start on my assignment again.

This was my third trip to Bangkok but first time going with Jerlyn's family and also going with such a big group. The last two trip to Bangkok was just for shopping and massage but this time Jerlyn's brother Jinson, added some sightseeing into our trip to make it different. Well first day reaching there, we went to restaurant to eat and then went for some night shopping at Pratunum market. It was quite late so most of the stalls is closing and we were quite tired so we didn't go for massage. Shopping was Jerlyn's priority in this trip while massage was my priority.

Second day we went to man-made floating market. We wanted to go to the original floating market but was told was too far. I think the drivers doesn't know the route well. At least Jerlyn found her traditional Thai snack at the floating market, if not we have wasted that trip. Went to two temples to pray too. The Buddha is really hugh. Shopping again at night to catch what Jerlyn have missed the previous night. After that was massage, our favourite Thai oil massage. The massage was good and I think their facilities and amenities have improve a lot since the first time I came to Bangkok in 2005 for massage. I remember at that time when having oil massage, they only give me a small towel to cover my family jewel. Now they have those disposable briefs like in Koh Samui for me to wear.

Third day was shopping all day. Went Big C, Platinum Mall, MBK to shop. Went to A&W to eat Jerlyn's favourite waffle too. I manage to fall asleep in the mall in the first time of my life while waiting for Jerlyn to shop. Never thought I could sleep in a shopping mall with so many people walking past me. I saw the guy beside me fell asleep, think he was waiting for his partner too. At night went to take their MRT which they call it BTS, to Chaopraya River to have dinner in a ship. Was quite unique but still prefer to eat my meal in stable ground. Went for massage again but this time was foot massage. The massage was not bad but oil massage was still better.

Fourth day was the day to go back. Met a taxi driver who knows how to speak English and know how to make business too. Next time when going Bangkok again can look for him. Even though we didn't buy much but we still go back with ten luggage compare to the seven luggage when we came. 

High Fever

19/20 May 2011 - Went to OHSAS 18001:2007 Internal Audit Training at Tampines Concourse again. Get to know more about auditing and was thinking that should I go into this line since I am studying Safety now. As I getting more restless about my job now, I really need to think about this as I study along. Saw Fabian in the course too but he was the replacement for TLC. Luckily he wasn't here, if not I will be busy entertaining him.

20 May 2011 - After the course went for my OSHE2610 test. Thought will be difficult because I really don't understand what the lecturer was saying. Most of the things I study from YouTube to understand. And I only study the past year papers, this is only the 2nd test till now and the 1st test was so difficult so there is always the fear in there. But luckily it wasn't too difficult and I was able to answer most of them.

28 May 2011 - Went to the RSAF Open House with Jerlyn. Although after working for 10 years, this is my first time going to the open house in Paya Lebar. But compare to Luke Open House 2009 in Arizona, this is just a small version of it.

26 till 31 May 2011 - Falling sick was no joke and when the sweat gland started to Mal-function, I was given a hard time being sick in bed. Started on a Thursday when my neck started swelling, I thought should be nothing and will go away in few days time. But I was wrong, on Friday when I was doing my 24hrs BOS duty my neck pain was still there. Couple with not enough sleep for the past few days as I was suddenly asked to work night shift and then morning shift again, my body came crashing down. My thermoregulation start to Mal-function too on Saturday after the Open House and start having fever. So I thought, eat panadol and sweat it out. That's what I did and I was better after few hours. But when I wake up on Sunday, I was having high fever. My temperature was like a roller coaster going up and down the whole day and my sweat gland doesn't want to work all day. Highest went up to 38.8 degrees and lowest was 37.2 degrees. So Monday, when I wake up with 38.5 degrees, I decided to go see the doctor. But after seeing the doctor, it wasn't so fast that I will recover. I had to lie in bed for another day until today that I started to feel some life in me.

Jerlyn's Birthday

After the exam I had one week break from school but not break from work.. Loads of things to clear at work.. Changing of appointment also make me busy as handing and taking over a lot of stuffs..

Went to HDB hub with Jerlyn to choose our first unit together.. Was feeling excited and worried too.. excited to choose a unit for the first time.. Thou it wasn't the location that we wanted but we are still quite happy to get a unit eventually after 3 years of trying.. Worried that the unit we wanted might be chosen by someone else in front of us.. We have been checking the unit chosen every night for the past few days to see that our ideal unit is chosen a not.. Even when during my exam period I was checking too.. We went there early by one hour after I took a few hours off.. We went to the showroom and check out the 4 room design and felt quite satisfied with it.. When waiting for our turn, I keep walking around and watching the television over there for the latest update.. Finally our turn came and we went in to do all the paperwork.. Took us around 1 hour to finish all the paper work and this is just the first appointment.. There will be another appointment coming in few months time.. We were quite happy that we chose the unit that we wanted and went back home..

Jerlyn's Birthday was near so I bought her a Ipod nano which she wanted with engraving on it.. I also brought her to watch movie ( Fast and Furious 5) and bought a mango moouse cake for her at Bakerzin but didn't  have time to eat it.. So we brought it home to eat but melted.. But it was still tasty as both of us compete to finish the cake haha..

Lessons started again and this time everyday had lessons.. And the lessons were all about human biology.. It was really tough for me with no biology background..

I did give Jerlyn a small surprise for her birthday when I contacted Linda to give her a surprise when she meet the PC2 tai tais for dinner on her birthday that day.. I had lessons on that day so I went to meet them after the surprise.. The ladies had bought Jerlyn a chocolate cream cake and Jerlyn was really surprised that they would celebrate her birthday for her.. I met up with them at the AMK McDonald's for chat..

Went for my first polling with Jerlyn.. Went to her side first to vote.. Thought that voting will be more classy but they only cornered off the void deck and let Jerlyn vote.. For my side to vote it was much better as it was at a school.. Voting was fast as we thought it will take us quite some time to queue..

I started jogging again as Jerlyn bought me a new running shoes.. Till now managed to jog for two days as working and night lessons have already took most of my time.. Sleeping was a luxury these days..

Went for my OHSAS 18001:2007 development and Implementing course at Tampines Concourse.. It was quite basic course but I managed to understand more about the course and the certificate will help me for my studies..

Exams!!

Took my exams for this 2 weeks.. It was like the longest 2 weeks of my life.. It has been 10 years since my last exams in my poly days in May 2001.. After my poly days I went for my BMT and after I was in the force all the way till now..

9th and 10th April I was still quite relax as I only study a bit while accompany Jerlyn most of the time.. I took leave for my first exam on the 13th April Wednesday and spend Monday and Tuesday at Chevron studying with Bernard.. But Tuesday I went back to my workplace in the morning because Huijun needed to go into the medical centre to have her blood drawn.. So I went in with her and saw how the doctor poke her countless times with needles but still couldn't draw it out.. Until she couldn't take it and ask for another option.. She was really brave.. I was looking at her face all the time and she was really calm.. On the exam day we went to the school early in the morning to study and discuss last minutes issues with other classmates.. After the exam I feel that it was okay but I could have done better.. I didn't ate dinner before my exam so I was starving so Jerlyn accompany me for supper..

14th and 15th April which is Thursday and Friday I went back to work.. And boy I was really unlucky.. Something big happens and I was tasked to do some control measures about the case and had to stay later than Jerlyn.. It was the first time that I work later than her in the normal day shift.. She came to fetch me around at 9 plus at night..

Weekend came again.. Jerlyn went out on Saturday and leave me alone for me to study.. But I didn't manage to study much.. Think that weekend my mind will automatic switch off itself.. so Sunday was the same but I manage to study a bit because I went to Chervon with Bernard to study.. I tried to push myself more as I did quite badly for the test for this module so I need more marks in this exam.. So from 18th to 20th April I stay at home and watch the videos that the lecturer make during the lesson to understand more of the module.. But there was too many information to know and I was really overloaded.. Monday night the 18th me and Jerlyn went to see the MP for our housing issues hoping that he could help us.. The guy who work under the MP didn't give us false hope that we will sure get the housing we wanted but we were told off by him too.. But we needed his help and we didn't want to loose our chances so we just accept what he said.. 

So the final exam day came and as usually me and Bernard went to school early to study again.. But we detour to CMPB to get something for my HDB appointment on 26th April.. Feeling the heat as time was nearing so I tried to memorise the course review and the tips that the lecturer gave but it backfire.. Most of the tips was not in the exam paper and I did badly for this paper.. Now I can only pray that I can pass it..

22nd April is Good Friday so I went out with Jerlyn to IMM to shop.. We didn't shop long as we were quite tired and went home and took a nap instead..

After the exams I felt that after not having exam for so long.. I really need the mentally strength to be back and it was really stressful having work and study at the same time.. But I will try my best to finish this three years of struggle for my better future..

7th May will be the Polling day.. I had never vote in my life so this time I might have the chance to vote as the area where I am staying finally might have opposition contesting for the GRC..

SSDPC and Progress Test

My First Progress Test and I flunk like hell.. Didn't have this feeling for so long since Poly days.. But poly days didn't even flunk so badly before.. 

28th March went to AFTC to have my pre SSDPC course brief.. Know that life will be tough for the following week as there will be marching and also having my test on the same week..

31st March I ask my dad about the housing.. He told the MP about it and they wrote a letter to HDB to see of we could get a nearer flat.. Now got to wait till there is any changes if not we will be choosing Bukit Panjang for our new home..

1st April had my 1st IPPT of the year and I'm the 1st in my flight to fail it.. I know I won't be able to pass it because I haven't been exercising since last year I passed my IPPT.. But I did manage to achieve my target which is running non stop and run below 15 minutes.. I manage to run 14.09 minutes.. But the aftermath was really painful.. My legs was not used to the running and ached for 2 days.. Going down the stairs was nightmare..

Going for the SSDPC course was really not I wanted.. But having no choice I went there and learn.. It was like BMT again.. Marching everywhere we go.. Singing everywhere we go.. Everyday we perspired like running tap.. Everyday ached till numbed.. The most difficult part is holding the colours which is super heavy and we need to hold it for 30 seconds.. And did it twice some more.. But the whole course wasn't really that bad.. It was fun too.. Overall it was a good experience but I do not want to try it again..

Jerlyn fell sick on 7th and 8th April.. Having fever and sore throat.. I was tired because of the SSDPC course and also need to study for my test too so I didn't really have time to take care of her.. Feel bad about this..

For my progress test on 8th April.. I didn't really have time to study because I was too tired to concentrate on studying.. My mind went blank when I saw the paper.. really want to hand in blank but I told myself to write something at least so there might be some marks for it.. But after coming out and look at my notes.. I know its gone..

Thinking..

After my wife starting thinking of changing her 1st job after coming back from PC2, I was wondering I should follow her and change job a not.. Not because everyone is leaving the force.. This is one of the factors but not all because of this.. One of my batch boy who got a job outside but haven't got his ER form signed by boss yet, asked me if there any particular reasons that make so many people wanted to leave.. I feel that being in the force for too long have seen too much things and the people in there is really making me sick of the place.. I'm not saying the force is not good, there benefits are better than outside world. Its just that the people cannot make me improve anymore, I have become too used to the place and I think I will rot inside if I keep on staying.. But having said that, being too long inside also make me worried if I can adapt to the world..

Assignment and Assignment

After coming back from Australia I found that my studies is lagging and some more I miss all the lessons which have calculations in it.. OMG.. need to get notes from my classmates.. Applied for BTO for the 5th time and got a queue number finally..

14th March 2011 Mon - Having my detachment off, so went to clear some of my personal stuff like banking and applied for BTO at Bukit Panjang.. First day back to school seem lost.. Does not know what the lecturer talking about.. need some time to catch up.. Ask my group mates about our group assignment on what my role..

15th March 2011 Tue - Work and school again.. got to finish my group assignment report and presentation slide too..

16th March 2011 Wed - Work but no school.. so went to visit my mum and ask my dad about the housing if the MP can help us in getting an unit..

17th March 2011 Thurs - Work and school again.. this is tiring.. continue my group assignment.. trying to finish by weekend..

18th March 2011 Fri - Work and no school.. finish my report and slide and pass it to one of my group mate..

19th March 2011 Sat - There a class in the afternoon and I'm glad that I went as the lecturer gave tips for the exam.. After school came back home and accompany Jerlyn..

20th March 2011 Sun - Didn't go out as I still have to do my another assignment.. Jerlyn went out with her mum to Chinatown for dinner..

21st March 2011 Mon - Work and school again.. Got arrow to go for the drill instructor course.. there not much people left in my workplace so there no choice to avoid it.. Haiz what a big arrow.. I didn't want to go because I'm not staying for long too.. So this course is a waste of time and I might need to go parade for this.. Having my group assignment presentation.. my presentation skills become weaker again..

22nd March 2011 Tue - Work and school again.. work having some problem as someone screw up and I got clear up the mess.. make me miss my lesson for one hour.. and I miss the calculation lesson.. Damn it..

23rd March 2011 Wed - Late for work.. no school today.. try to do my assignment report as much as I can.. Found out that we got a queue number for Bukit Panjang BTO.. 191 out of 269.. Hope can get a good unit..

24th March 2011 Thurs - After work went to my mum's place to eat.. My dad say that the MP need a letter to proof that we didn't get a unit.. So now it like Jerlyn's mum want us to get a place near Clementi but we don't know how to go about it now..

25th March 2011 Fri - Suppose to go for the drill instructor pre-course brief but was postponed to Monday.. so went to work instead.. Went for lesson as usual and ask about my progress test but still no news.. the calculation is too complicated.. I forgot all the calculation that I have learnt in poly..

26th March 2011 Sat - Try to finish my assignment today so I can turnitin.. Managed to finish around 1am..

27th March 2011 Sun - There's a surprise birthday party for serene as she and Ming have just came back from PC2.. Saw Linda and Teck Tong too.. Came back home and edit my assignment again and turnitin.. Tried my number 3 uniform and number 4 uniform for my drill instructor course and found out my pants are all tight.. It's time to exercise.. Getting fatter.. Need to buy new uniform too.. Sad..

Back From Australia

Finally came back from Australia.. I'm glad that I'm back in Singapore after almost 3 weeks over there.. I know that I will have a lot of things to do when I came back..

25th Feb 2011 Fri - Ate McDonald's brekka wrap and ice coffee.. Not bad I might say and this can't be found in Singapore.. But the ice coffee is a bit bland.. today started the free lunch provided by the committee of the Airshow.. There were sandwiches, cookie, fruit and a drink.. Not bad, quite the same as the in flight ration provided when we flew from Darwin to Avalon.. The in flight rations is better than the one provided from Singapore.. There were lots of mosquitoes and it making everyone irritated.. After work, went to Green Basil Noodle Bar again to try the long soup with egg noodle and chicken.. The soup was really good.. Went to a local shopping mall called west field for a walk and brought some hangers.. Went back hotel and find that my tee shirts that I wash last night wasn't dry yet.. Wash my underwear and socks and started reading my notes.. But after awhile I fell asleep..

26th Feb 2011 Sat - Ate McDonald's for breakfast again.. There is one meal called the mighty mcmuffin meal which is sausage with egg and bacon mcmuffin.. Lunch was ham salad wrap with double fudge chocolate cookie and banana and drink.. After work everyone was rushing to go Melbourne to gamble.. I was on duty so I decided to stay at Geelong.. The people who stay went to the Geelong Waterfront for walk and dinner.. Ate Japanese food and McDonald's ice cream.. After that we went to arcade to play games.. Back in hotel and wanted to surf net but got hit by virus instead.. Now I couldn't log into Internet and can't open any of my files in my laptop too.. So no choice I took my shower and washes my tee shirts and wanting to study but fell asleep instead..

27th Feb 2011 Sun - Wake up early to prepare for our sightseeing.. This was our first day off after reaching Australia..Went to eat McDonald's again before driving down to see the 12 Apostles.. Took 2 hours to reach and its worth taking that time.. The place was really beautiful.. After its Melbourne again.. Took another 3 hours to reach Melbourne.. Those whose wanted to gamble went straight to Crown while me and the others went to Victoria Market to walk.. bought some magnets and went to Chinatown to eat Chinese style noodles.. It was really good.. After that went to the casino to wait for them.. I even fell asleep in the crouch and was woken up by the staff as no sleeping is allowed in casino..

28th Feb 2011 Mon - Almost didn't wake up as I didn't hear my alarm clock rang.. Ate hungry jacks for breakfast.. After 1pm we were allowed to go back hotel as there isn't much things to do and the next day will be the start of the Airshow.. So we were given time to relax.. Brought my lunch back to eat.. Everyday the lunch is different wrap with different meat inside.. It was kind of a healthy food.. Went downstairs to the lobby to use the Internet.. It cost 2 dollars for 20 minutes of usage..Went to a Chinese restaurant to eat.. Was quite expensive but the food was not bad.. Along the way back the guys found a jackpot or slots machine cafe and spent 3 hours there..

1st Mar 2011 Tue - First day of the Airshow.. Went to McDonald's for breakfast again.. There were quite a lot of aerobatics show performed.. Work quite late around 6 plus in the evening.. Then back to hotel and use the Internet in the lobby again.. Went to Khan Curry Hut for dinner.. the Curry was quite good but the portion was very small and expensive.. Went to 7-11 to buy 1 dollar hot chocolate.. Gilbert called and ask if I could lend Larry my mobile broadband USB stick, I could go down to their room and use Larry laptop and save the 2 dollars everyday now..

2nd Mar 2011 Wed - Morning McDonald's again.. Went to the exhibition hall and walk.. Got my coin for 20 dollars.. Was more expensive than the one that I bought in the states.. Got a lot of stickers and brochure too.. KF ask a few about job vacancy in their industry wanted to join them if he could.. The static display was getting more crowded.. People were asking all sorts of funny questions.. Dinner was at a new place called Happy Kitchen serving Chinese food.. the portion was big and food was good.. Went to K mart to buy tit bits for the flight.. Its something like Walmart but cheaper.. There was a coles supermarket beside K mart but opened till 12 midnight.. Doesn't know why Geelong's coles supermarket closed so early.. There was another new place for them to gamble which is similar like Singapore Pools..

3rd Mar 2011 Thurs - Wake up late as the in time was 2pm in the afternoon.. They started putting 2 shift to rotate the guys.. Ate cup noodles for breakfast.. After the Airshow finished at 5pm.. We started to pack and went back hotel.. Dinner was at Happy kitchen again.. Heard that those who took C130 to Avalon will have to take KC135 back as the C130 were deployed to New Zealand for aid in the earthquake victims..

4th Mar 2011 Fri - Breakfast at Subway for some changes.. There were only 5 guys working in the morning while the rest came in late.. After they came in to takeover us at the static display I was almost freezes.. Dinner was Happy Kitchen and hot chocolate again.. bought 2 tim tam biscuits too.. Went to Larry's room to watch Forrest Gump the movie..

5th Mar 2011 Sat - Hungry Jacks for breakfast and to the static display again.. today is opened to public so thousands of people came to watch the aerobatics show.. I went for a walk after hours of standing at the display and found one flying doctor service.. they gave me a free checkup but ask for donation for the fund to help the needy in Australia.. So I donated 20 dollars.. After the 2nd shift came in.. We went back hotel and I ate my lunch in my room watching soccer in my underwear.. Did some push up too for my upcoming IPPT.. Dinner was Happy Kitchen again..

6th Mar 2011 Sun - Last day of the Airshow and static display.. Weather getting hot too.. Breakfast was subway.. Almost burned out while standing at the static display.. Stayed till 6 plus in the evening as there wasn't a 2nd shift.. Dinner at Happy Kitchen again.. Think I going to be sick eating the same thing again and again..

7th Mar 2011 Mon - McDonald's breakfast again.. Packing up start and we tried to finish more so that we can rest the next day.. Dinner was at the restaurant and everyone have to pay 35 dollars for it.. The food sucks and most of them were beef.. I only manage to eat bread, fish baked potato, salad and fruits..

8th Mar 2011 Tue - Wake up early to eat breakfast at hungry jacks.. Thought of going sightseeing but went to outlet instead.. The outlets were disappointing.. Thou it was big but was more expensive than Anthem and Arizona Mills.. Went back to casino to meet the gamblers and eat dinner nearby.. The Chinese food restaurant near the Crown sucks too..

9th Mar 2011 Wed - Wake up early eating tim tam biscuits and watch champions league match between Barcelona and Arsenal in bed.. Thought of Jerlyn was saying last night that she might be coming to fetch me on Friday excited me.. She always give me surprise when coming to fetch me.. I was quite happy as I was going back Singapore soon and I misses Jerlyn a lot.. Went in to work late as the KC135 will be landing late in the evening.. It started raining and it cause problems for the KC135 to land and was diverted to Melbourne instead.. This means bad news as if the KC135 could not come over to Avalon in time the next day, We will be stuck in Geelong for another day or even longer..

10th Mar 2011 Thurs - Early in the morning I was tasked to send the KC135 air crews to Melbourne so that they can fly the plane over to Avalon.. It started raining again so we have to wait for the plane to take off before leaving Melbourne in case they can't make it I have to drive them back.. But lucky it flew and I went back Geelong hotel to check out and went back to Avalon.. We waited for everything to load before we board the plane and off we flew to Darwin.. Upon reaching Darwin we got another problem and we might have to stay in Darwin for few days if problem is not solved.. A problem surfaced after another.. Darwin was I think worst than Geelong as there is nothing over here except a casino.. Only the gamblers liked it here..

11th Mar 2011 Fri - Wake up early and wait.. We were told to go in at 11am but there wasn't enough seats so waited till 1 plus before going into the airport.. Heard we have to fly by 330pm if not we will not be flying.. And also we might have chance of diverting to Bali to.. When the time arrived we managed to fly and reach Singapore safely around 7pm.. Jerlyn was at outside the gate waiting for me..

12th Mar 2011 Sat - Wake up around 9am and went for brunch at 12 noon with Jerlyn and bought Koi for drink.. It was a lazy Saturday for us..

13th Mar 2011 Sun - Wake up early with Jerlyn to go Changi Airport to send Nic, Zq and Malcolm off.. The 3 of them was going for their 2nd trip.. Was happy for them as PC2 was a good place for me and Jerlyn.. Thou the work wasn't good but the place was memorable for me and Jerlyn.. Will I be going in the near future? There is no answer for this yet..

Finally got Internet after buying the mobile broadband.. First time at Australia.. Feel like in Canada but with shops closing at as early as 530pm it really tough to buy anything..

18th Feb 2011 Fri - Went to work and people were thinking why was I still in Singapore and not in Australia.. Went to school and manage to fix a date for our group presentation on 21st March..

19th Feb 2011 Sat - Didn't do much on this day.. Went to West Mall with Jerlyn to eat dinner and went home while Jerlyn go meet Seline for gossip chat.. Saw a video from Jerlyn's friend facebook about Taiwanese ladies wearing boyshorts, I know they copied from New York No Pants Subway ride.. Think it becoming a trend in the trains..

20th Feb 2011 Sun - Went to Jerlyn's Mum stall to meet Jerlyn and eat breakfast.. After that went to Parkway Parade with Nicholas and Huijun for lunch and baby shopping.. Thinking of what Nicholas had said earlier in the week that he didn't want kids but because Huijun wanted it.. For me, if Jerlyn is ready for kids then we will try for it.. If not ready, we can take our time.. For my thinking is I rather spend more time with Jerlyn because kids won't be with us forever.. They will have their own life, so to me want or don't want is okay with me..

21st Feb 2011 Mon - Waking up early to go Paya Lebar Air Base to take the C130 cargo plane to Darwin.. Darwin is 1 and a half hour ahead of Singapore so reaching there will be in evening time.. Before takeoff it was very hot but when it is in the air will become very cold using the atmospheric air.. It took 7 hours to reach Darwin, was really tiring.. The urinal in the plane is like a measuring jug with suction in the middle.. Urine will be suck out from the plane to the atmospheric air while flying.. Customs in Darwin is really different, They mostly check for herbs and medicine in the luggage only.. Went to the Wharf for dinner, fish and calamari cost 15.90 Australian dollar plus tartar sauce cost 1 dollar.. 600ml coke cost 4 dollars, very expensive coke.. After that went to casino with the guys and this casino is full of old gentlemen and ladies.. The only good thing I like is there is a vending machine with free drinks.. Got one hot chocolate and two still water for myself while waiting for them..

22nd Feb 2011 Tue - Wake up and get ready to fly again.. Bought Tuna sandwich for 6 dollars and one ice coffee for 1.50 dollars.. Took another 7 hours to reach Avalon Airport.. Avalon is located in between Geelong where our hotel is and Melbourne where the city is.. Its 3 hours ahead of Singapore.. Reaching Avalon and can feel the cold winds blowing, different from the heat I experience in Darwin.. It was only 16 degree when we touchdown.. Then took about half an hour drive to reach the town of Geelong.. The hotel was not bad with 2 queens size beds but there is no Internet and having only one washing machine and one dryer.. Lucky I brought my notes to study, just that don't know if there is time to study.. Ate hungry jacks during the journey to Geelong and then went to a Vietnamese restaurant to eat again.. Spend about 15 dollars for both..

23rd Feb 2011 Wed - Wake up and need to go into Avalon to make pass.. Ate breakfast at hungry jacks again for 6 dollars.. Thinking that I need to buy mobile broadband to have Internet and also water for the 2 weeks.. Washing will be in the basin of the hotel room too if want to save money.. Took about 2 hours to make pass for everyone.. There were so many houseflies here, same like in Arizona summer time.. Went to Melbourne after work for dinner.. They were suggesting Korean BBQ because they wanted our DSO to pay for it.. At 38.50 ++ dollars per person with 27 person, she paid half of it and the rest paid 20 dollars each.. Kok Foong as our Trade IC paid for us.. I rather go McDonald's to eat, cheaper and better.. After that went casino again.. Another night wasted in casino with things and water not bought yet..

24th Feb 2011 Thurs - Wake up with a stiff neck..The pillow is too soft making my neck painful.. Went to find the cheap bread that they recommend but it was cold and hard.. Thou it was cheap at 1 dollar but really sucks.. Went to Green Basil Noodle Bar for dinner.. Ate spring rolls as I was not really hungry.. Finally after work we went to the supermarket to buy stuff.. From what I heard that Australian are paid weekly and Thursday is their pay day and on this day supermarket will opened till 9pm.. Most of the days it will be closed at 530pm.. Managed to buy the Vodafone Mobile Broadband at 49 dollars and also water and some stuffs for 23 dollars.. Started to wash my clothes in the basin to save money as the washing machine cost 4 dollars for each wash..

CNY and Preparation for Avalon, Australia

Going for another detachment again, this time to Avalon Airport, near the city of Geelong, Victoria, Australia.. Hope I will have time to study over in Geelong.. Finished my first assignment with sweat and also having my first lunar new year since 2008..

29th Jan 2011 Sat - Accompany Jerlyn to Orchard for her waxing session.. Chinese New Year is around the corner so everyone is doing their last minute shopping.. But it doesn't seem a lot of people at Orchard at the time.. We didn't buy anything because we had too much new clothes at home for us to dig out and wear..

30th Jan 2011 Sun - Went to my cousin Jaymee aka Piaky and Calvin's house after visiting my sister at Hougang.. Her house was really beautiful.. Spent about $50,000 on renovations and $398,000 for a 4 rooms unit which they hacked down one room to have a bigger master bedroom.. Started my first assignment.. doesn't really know where to start.. during my poly days, I didn't even write reports before so this was quite a challenge for me.. After the end of the day.. nothing much came out..

2nd Feb 2011 Wed - Its Chinese New Year Eve.. Both me and Jerlyn was not working.. We went to my parents' house and eat lunch ourselves as my parents were at Hougang visiting my sister.. Jerlyn ransack some stuff and underwear back from my house at night when we went back to pray..

3rd Feb 2011 Thurs - 1st day of Lunar New Year.. Went back my parents' house again then went to my 2nd uncle's house to visit them.. As usual everyone will gather at his house every first day of chinese new year.. Went to 4th uncle's house and then to Cynthia's house to see her new home.. Seem like its a new hobby for me and Jerlyn to go visit people new house.. Her house was really nice and simple for a 3 rooms unit.. forgot how much was her renovations and the value of her house.. After that we went to my aunt's house.. Everyone were playing cards and mahjong and we joined in the fun of mahjong with my cousin and his kids for a while.. Cant imagine that my cousin's eldest daughter who is my niece is 24 years old this year.. Actually I have a distant niece who is one year older than me that means I became uncle before I was born haha.. And she happens to be my poly mate who I went to her house to stay and study during exams.. Went back home and played mahjong again with Jerlyn's aunt and uncle..

4th Feb 2011 Fri - 2nd day of Lunar New Year.. Stay home this day to catch up on my assignment.. Jerlyn went up to play mahjong again while I continue to do my assignment as there is not much time left..

5th Feb 2011 Sat - 3rd day of Lunar New Year.. Went to Bishan to visit Jerlyn 1st aunt's house.. Still pressing for my assignment but speed was quite slow at the moment.. Went up to Jerlyn's aunt house to play mahjong to destress..

6th Feb 2011 Sun - 4th day of Lunar New Year.. Stay home and finally finished my assignment.. Submitted to my school website via Turnitin, a system that can detect plagiarism when you submit.. I got 0 percent for it which is fantastic but being my 1st time, I began to wonder is there any problem with the system rather than being happy with it..

7th Feb 2011 Mon - Went to work and still thinking of my assignment..

8th Feb 2011 Tue - Ask around and there is people who have the same 0 percent like me.. so it should be fine.. so I pack my luggage and sent it to my workplace..

9th Feb 2011 Wed - Work and school.. Went to school and ask my lecturer Anne and she told me that 0 percent is rare.. So she told us to keep a copy of proof for we can argue if there is really any problem with the system.. I asked around and found more people having the same thing.. Anyway went home and edit my assignment again and submit it again..

10th Feb 2011 Thurs - Work and school again.. Getting more tired everyday with work and school.. It really drains me out..

11th Feb 2011 Fri - Its Friday.. Went to work and came back early and went to Trisa's house with Jerlyn.. Ate steamboat and chatted..

12th Feb 2011 Sat - i told Jerlyn that we would celebrate Valentine on this day as I will be working and having lesson on the actual day.. So we decide to go to Sentosa to see the flowers for our 5th Valentine day.. It was also the 2nd time that we visited the Sentosa Flowers event.. Is a yearly event and it will only have this event during the lunar new year.. The 1st time that we went was the time that I propose to Jerlyn after the Sentosa Flowers Event.. So we were quite excited to go again.. But this time doesn't really seem to be better than last time.. After that we went to Bakerzin for our dinner..

13th Feb 2011 Sun - Went to Andy's house for the PC2 wives gathering.. Husbands were of course invited too.. 5 years 5 rooms unit for $650,000 was really expensive.. But due to its location it seems reasonable.. That make me wonder when we can have our own unit..

14th Feb 2011 Mon - Work and school again.. As most of my skinxwear underwear is packed in the luggage and laundry is not washed, I have no choice but to wear my other brands underwear which is very tight.. This make me uncomfortable and grumpy all day.. By end of the day I'm having rashes again.. So no more tight underwear and buy more skinxwear during the Great Singapore Sale haha..

15th Feb 2011 Tue - Getting nearer to my detachment so work is getting more and more.. Saw 3 more people submitting their early release form make me wonder about my future again.. It really making me think hard that staying for long wasn't really a good idea anyway.. I know everywhere is the same old shit but if everyone wants to leave.. There is really something wrong with the management..

16th Feb 2011 Wed - Got a visitor from work about my secondary appointment.. He gave some pointers about it and left.. I was left with little time to do the changes.. Hope the rumors that he gave is not real.. If not after the detachment I got to work like hell..

17th Feb 2011 Thurs - It a Detachment off day for me so I can prepare for the next day flying off to Darwin, Australia.. But due to weather in Darwin, my flight is postponed to next Monday.. Which means I have to work tomorrow and spend the weekend in Singapore..

Now that I started taking up my part time degree, I didn't have much time to sleep.. Everyday is like sleeping for 6 hours and going to work is like zombie going to work..

7th Jan 2011 Fri - After work went to School at Henderson Road.. Tried to do research on which bus will get to school faster.. And found out there 4 buses going to school from Clementi.. but the faster is bus 147..

8th Jan 2011 Sat - Went to meet AMK for check out a unit at Jurong Point.. Its really very near Jurong Point and everything is accessible there.. I like the fact of the location.. But one thing bad about this unit is the Feng Shui.. Jerlyn and I discuss and think we should ask her parents to come down to have a look..

9th Jan 2011 Sun - Went down to the unit to see again.. But this time with Jerlyn's parents and brother.. After another discussion we decided not to buy as the main factor is the Feng Shui.. The arc that is facing the main door is the deciding factor.. If not of the Feng Shui, I think I might want to buy it..

10th to 12th Jan 2011 Mon to Wed - 3 days of work plus school after work.. this is really tiring.. I decided not to change my pants any more and just change the top and wear my work pants to school because its too troublesome..

15th Jan 2011 Sat - Went to meet Cecilia, Li Ting and Trisa with Jerlyn to Bugis Iluma to celebrate Li Ting Birthday.. We ate at a Japanese Steamboat Buffet Restaurant, where the waitress were dressed in maid costume, for 2 hours and after that went to Swensens to eat dessert some more.. So full that day.. In between the 4 girls went to Arcade to play while I help them take pictures..

16th Jan 2011 Sun - Resting at home.. Now resting at home is a luxury..

17th to 18th Jan 2011 Mon to Tue - School after work again.. I found out going to school from Tiong Bahru by taking one bus which only take 2 bus stops, will be faster..

19th Jan 2011 Wed - Its my 1st day for the SAF Instructional Course at Tampines Concourse.. There even more assignment for me now.. Went home and saw a letter from HDB that invite us to go select a unit for the Bukit Panjang Parc View BTO.. but we went to the website and check, it only had 135 units left.. Our appointment date is 7th Feb, by the time comes I think there is no more units for us.. So we didn't feel excited at all..

21st Jan 2011 Fri - After work as usual I went to school.. this day there is a briefing about the site visit that we will be going on the next day.. Things that need to bring and all the safety aspect were brief.. Bernard help me buy a hard hat and safety glasses for the site visit..

22nd Jan 2011 Sat - Went to school to waited for the charted bus to bring us to Pasir Panjang Ferry Terminal to bring us to Pulau Bukom Shell Refinery.. Didn't know the Ferry Terminal is behind my secondary school all along.. Took a ferry over and we were put in the bus and went around the island to see all the things that we can write in our site visit report that we need to hand in by 12th Feb.. Everyone is writing and writing didn't want to miss out anything.. We went down the bus and see those contractor company at the island and write the hazard and safety aspects of them.. There is even a safety centre in the island for us to visit.. after the walking and touring.. we rest at the club house for refreshment and discussion for our group assignment.. After that we could go back home.. It was so tiring at the island.. At the evening.. Jerlyn and I went to meet the PC2 wives club plus the husbands of course to eat at Jalan Kayu Mad Jack Restaurant.. After that went to one of the guys' flat at Seng Kang East.. Chat till 2am before we went home..

23rd Jan 2011 Sun - Wake up at 10am plus and meet Li Ting as she drove down to Clementi for groceries.. Then she send us to her house for their monthly Mahjong session.. Trisa won't be able to come so me as the super sub takeover.. During the 1st round Cecila and Jerlyn were wining while me and Li Ting was losing.. But for the 2nd round we swap places and I end up wining.. Cecilia is the biggest winner while Jerlyn and Li ting lost.. Lucky I had my red boxers on haha..

24th Jan 2011 Mon - Got a presentation which I didn't really prepare well and just went ahead and do it.. Was quite nervous and didn't really do well.. I wasn't good at presentation skills at the 1st place so this is a course that make me learn.. School after the course..

25th Jan 2011 Tue - Getting the tiredness as every night after school got to go home and redo and add in more for my presentation slides.. Feel like a zombie.. After the course went to school again..

26th Jan 2011 Wed - My last presentation and I think I did better this time.. The 2 things that make presentation better was better prepare and more practice.. But after this presentation the most that I will present again will be during my school assignment.. Work mostly doesn't need much of this skill.. Finally can rest one day with out going to school..

27th Jan 2011 Thurs - Its the last day for the course so it was quite relax.. Learn how to present better and feel good about it.. but presentation skill really need practice.. Don't know I can still remember when my next presentation comes which is don't know when again.. went to school with my laptop and end up couldn't concentrate on lesson..

28th Jan 2011 Fri - Took my New Year day off today.. Hope can rest and do some domestic stuff and school work too..

Back to School

A new year and new resolution.. A normal Christmas eve and normal New Year.. I'm back to school after leaving polytechnic in June 2001.. Almost ten years of leaving school and now I will be studying for my Degree in Bachelor of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety.. Not sure I would have a long career in RSAF so its time to go study and make changes in my life.. Who knows after finishing my Degree, there might be changes.. That we shall see..

24th Dec 2010 Fri - After coming home from work.. Jerlyn and I wasn't intending to go anywhere to celebrate.. So we just went to Sheng Siong Supermarket to buy some groceries as Jerlyn wanted to cook Christmas dinner for me and her mum..

25th Dec 2010 Sat - Christmas Day.. We didn't do anything too.. Just stay home and rest..

26th Dec 2010 Sun - Boxing Day.. I got to work as I got duty on this day as BOS.. So early in the morning I left for work while Jerlyn prepare for her friends, Trisa, Cecilia and Li Ting to come for their 2nd Mahjong session.. There had a BBQ session at night too.. While I was at work doing my duty..

27th Dec 2010 Mon - Coming back from work from my duty in the morning while Jerlyn went for work.. In the evening, We met Cyndi and Hansheng for dinner at Breeks Cafe at Ngee Ann City.. Brought them Christmas present and Cyndi post birthday present..

29th Dec 2010 Wed - Jerlyn took a day off and waited for the TV wall mount to arrive.. Heard form Jerlyn that her 2nd Brother has intended to get married.. So 1st thing come to my mind was where will we stay if her brother got married and his soon to be wife moves in..

31st Dec 2010 Fri - New Year's Eve.. Its is also my workplace family day.. We were ask to go Bishan Hai Bin Prawning Place to prawn and to mingle around.. Caught a lot of Shrimps but we still lose to MS section in terms of weight and come in 2nd.. After that we went to AMK hub for walk.. At night we went to IMM with Jerlyn's Parents and two brothers plus her 2nd brother's girlfriend for dinner.. Then when we came home me and Jerlyn waited for the clock to strike midnight before saying happy new year and then go to sleep haha..

1st Jan 2011 Sat - Went out with Huijun and Nicholas and Baby Kaden for high tea and dinner.. 1st time seeing Kaden but I was having flu so I didn't go near him as worried to pass the flu to Kaden..

2nd Jan 2011 Sun - Went to Sentosa with Jerlyn and her friends, Nicholas and Jacqueline, Regina and Darren and little Ashton.. Went to Siloso Beach for picnic but not for suntanning haha.. My figure is getting out of shape as lack of exercise so it better not to flaunt my body in my swimming trunk haha..

3rd Jan 2011 Mon - 1st day of work of the new year and also the 1st day of school.. Leave work at 4.30pm and reach school at 6.15pm.. It's the orientation and to familiarize with the school campus.. But it was really tiring going school after work..

4th Jan 2011 Tue - Work and School again.. Leave work at 5.15pm and reach school at 6.25pm.. Didn't even got time to change.. And I find it troublesome to bring clothes to change.. Finding a clean toilet to change is very challenging.. Changing pants in the small cubicle is even more challenging.. This make me think of the No Pants Subway Ride in New York.. If everyone don't wear pants just go work and school in underwear then I don't need to be so stress haha.. Actually If I got the chance to go back New York I would like to try the no pants subway ride.. Should be cold and fun haha..
